It´s a big loss for the forum community that chuckebaby, Danny and
Craig cut their participation .
One question  arrises to me which could be a help to prevent
personal attacks :
Does anybudy ever have unleached the - report abuse - button ?
This could eventually be a way to ban sucker.

Now I wonder, where did the "negativity" in this thread started? Sorry to say, but the OP already had this not too subtle negativity of "why don't you always behave like this?", implying that forumites in too many cases don't act right. Then, one should not complain if it is pointed out, that even if forumites "behave like this", the result is nonetheless often different than in the given example. (Of course, I don't deny that at least some forumites really behave in a questionable way, more or less often. But this is obviously not the only reason for being heard or not.)

All forums consist of a wide variety of different people, so everyone has to find out how to deal with each other. The simplest and oldest scheme is: cooperate with those who cooperate with you. Take part in discussions as long as they are polite and constructive, and just ignore anyone and anything that isn't. And most important, don't try to convince the ignorant, just step back and ignore them. But unfortunately, some people always want to "win the fight", and even more if the fight is about nothing.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here.  But if it's suggesting that it's somehow Craig's fault that the thread went negative, I totally disagree.

This I totally agree with.

Positive spin done in a negative way kind of cancels out the effort.  We users could use more support and we are telling Cakewalk that by taking the time to comment on this forum.  It is good for all of us.  It can be difficult for a user to be positive when something isn't working correctly.  Mr. Anderton, when something isn't working and you offer a complicated work around, it has a very "... then let them eat cake" kind of feel to us users.  We aren't at blame for the problem; we are offering insight into a sophisticated DAW that many of us have chosen to use and support.
We are hoping that Gibson will make an investment in Cakewalk the same way that we users have done.

Hold on its kinda funny in a way when you think what this forum is. Its a PEER to PEER forum. CW people are not required to be here at all. The fact that they do show up from time to time is really a pure bonus. Yet the funny part is you are complaining on a forum that was never meant for CW to user interaction about the lack of CW to user interaction.  I find that hilarious.

@John, I'm happy you are amused.   As I use Sonar as a professional DAW to earn money to live on, I am less than amused with our current level of support on many levels... but, hey, if you find my comments hilarious, please, by all means, enjoy!

I don't know you as a helpful forum member. I only know you here on this thread. I explained clearly why I found your posts to be hilarious for misunderstanding the purpose of this forum. It is not a place where users come to interact with CW people. It is a place where users come to ask questions and those questions are answered by other users. If you take look at what my posts are mostly about, 80 to 90% are aimed at answering questions going back to the very beginning of this forum. Others members have much the same history. Before you think you have something useful to say maybe it would prove useful to answer a few questions and help your fellow Sonar users and not find fault with a post that was trying to show how this forum can work.

I have not looked at your post history. However, with 35 posts many of which are attacking Craig in this thread I suspect by being here with uncalled for negative comments I wonder how much you make from Sonar. Most pros spend their time making money not trying to troll a thread.

Could somebody PLEASE kill this useless thread. It's lowering the tone considerably and seems to be accomplishing nothing.

I understand this is a social club for some here and anything short of praise is upsetting the apple cart, but can't you just ignore the thread? Besides, it's not the haters who keep bumping it. Maybe the cheerleaders need to huddle up via PM.

Perhaps when you've been here a little longer you will get a better feel for the forum. Its not a social club its a community of users trying to help each other. When a user finds a bug we are grateful for alerting us about it. Many of us try to reproduce it so there is a confirmation about it. It may show up on some systems and not on others. The more information we provide the better it is for CW in tracking it down and fixing it. In the meantime others try to find workarounds so members can still use the software.

What this forum is not about is attacking one another. We try to follow the CoC (Code of Conduct). Hosts try to give posters as much leeway as possible so that members don't feel too constrained. We count on the better nature of most people to post things that are not meant to abuse other members.

When posters go off topic in any thread it usually ends in someone misunderstanding or trying to find hidden meaning in posts. Often trying to find the worst motives in others. it would help greatly if instead doing that posters that suspect a problem with a poster or post contact a host or submit  a ticket about it. let the host look at it and then they will get back with the reporter and confirm or not the suspicion of the reporter.

The idea is don't post anything that can be construed as an attack on another member. If a member is a problem take it up with a host of your choice. Don't comment to that poster directly or in the thread.

Again this is and always has been a peer to peer forum. We are here to offer help to one another. Its the best place to learn Sonar and the best place to find a solution for a problem with Sonar. We really don't do well in other areas.

Hi there I have a stack of mp3s on usb sticks that we use for backing tracks. The trouble is they are all different volumes, creating a nightmare for our P.A. Can someone tell me how to open them in sonar 8 them save them all with a new volume level. I would also like to maybe add filters or change some tracks as some are hollow, bassey etc.

You'll need an mp3 encoder. That does not come with Sonar by default. There's probably a better way to accomplish what you're after...

If you're set on using Sonar, I suggest starting a new thread rather than posting in this one which is unrelated.

There is a free program called mp3 gain that is designed exactly for this purpose.
