Just noticed Jim Lima's post for 2017.01 early access... The fix list includes one for "Export Audio Crashes", does anyone know if this fix also covers "bouncing audio to a track" crash?

I'm going to find out very soon, as soon as I download the latest early release, that's the first thing I'm going to test.

Happy to announce that the 2017.01 Early Release fixes both of the two main problems I was having.
No more crashing when exporting audio!
And, the Synth Rack stays open (doesn't minimize) when adding a new instrument (VSTi).

Cheers Lee... Lets hope it doesn't re-emerge since 2016.12 was sporadic in my case. Just for the record did you try a bounce to tracks?

Yep, I tried a few different things, with several types of output.  I bounced some VSTi tracks to audio (freeze), and everything works fine.  Also when I'm exporting the audio to a song file, the cursor runs smoothly across the screen.  Unlike before, with the previous version, the cursor would move very jerky.   So whatever the problem was, if it was a memory issue with Windows 10, it seems to be running great now with no signs of struggling.
