I get errors and crashes when attempting to export .wav files.
 
I was experiencing repeated Sonar crashes upon export. I rebooted and was able to export one file. The second time I tried to export, I got "an internal error occurred while processing the mixdown. the operation was unsuccessful."
 
I then tried to bounce to a track and again it crashed. My disc is not full. I have no plug-ins that I know of.

That's strange! Export to audio works fine on my computer? What are your system specs (processor, RAM, sound card, etc.)?

Also, list details of the project you're trying to export - number of audio tracks, number of MIDI
tracks, what soft synths, number of busses etc.

Also, was this a project completely created from within X1 or was it imported form an earlier version?

This is the simplest imaginable project: 2 audio tracks, no midi, no soft synths, no nothing, created entirely in X1

Not sure if you are bouncing tracks or exporting audio - you mention both
If you are "bouncing" tracks, I had some problems the other day.
I found:
1. Won't bounce if you have Audio Snap Pallete enacted on a track.

2. Won't bounce if both your audio tracks source the same wave file.
i.e If you copied the first Audio Track to a second audio track you have two tracks sourcing the one *.wav file.
I "nudged" the second track so I don't know if that was the cause.

I just encountered the same error bouncing down to tracks - and came here looking for the answer.
 
In my case, it turned out to be caused by Norton Power Erase "fixing" the registry four days prior. I went back in the program and ran the un-do function and was back to normal.
 
Cakewalk is very fussy about the back end in Win7. Check to see if you recently installed an update or installed anything that could change your boot up in any way.
 
PS - I always do an image (Ghost, etc) backup when I get things setup perfectly. Then, if the unthinkable happens, you can always revert.

We have exported more as 100.000 files per year (and this over 10 years) with Sonar on 12 to 15 computers, because we digitaze tapes and vinyl. We never had this problem.
Try this:
- uncheck "use 64-bit-engine" in the export dialog (if checked)
- unplug your audiointerface. Exporting is also possible without any audiointerface.
- drag and drop an audioclip to your desktop or to a folder in the windows explorer (this copies the file). This must also work without crashing. This is also working with the unplugged audiocard.
- It can also be a problem with the grafic card (Nvidea audio driver).
- Is there any intern soundcard? If so - Try to disable them.
 
It's also possible that there are completely wrong settings in the config files for example BounceBufSizeMsec (should be 0) or other wrong settings.
