maybe craig could ask when he's next passing by as a user? or maybe the product manager lance could chime in, let us all now what he's planning for his product? or even noel, if he's browsing...

Might also ask what happened to ripple editing. I think they need to get some really good stuff done before moving into the Mac country to be accepted hopefully wholesomely by that crowd.

I think that it would be nice for Cakewalk to provide some kind of progress update information. Many users would appreciate hearing something.

Count me in on this as well. Seeing as how MOTU hasn't bothered to fix the problems with their latest version of Digital Performer and Avid is scewing people over with PT I'd really like to have Sonar on the Mac. S8P was solid and the only reason I left Sonar was I needed a new music computer at the tme and was sick of Windoze.

I know. I've tried being patient as they continue to talk about the programming challenges and wanting to make sure it's as good as they can get it before going to Alpha, but it would be nice to have a general idea of rough timeline. A Mac version makes me much more mobile with my favorite DAW and thus means I can commit to projects whilst on the road!

@SimpleManZ "they need to get some really good stuff done before moving into the Mac country to be accepted" - that's one of very few totally acceptable excuses, but doesn't justify lack of any information provided
@jackn2mpu - I can honestly recommend Reaper, it's multiplatform, very lightweight, reliable, extremely customizable DAW to give a try, practically all our broadcast vehicles moved onto Reaper (other audio software we use is Magix Samplitude Pro X series, various ProTools on Macs, SoundForge, and also little Adobe Audition on Macs)

That will be a tough crowd for sure!  When you can already get Logic Pro for $199.99, or Reaper for $60 on Mac, or even GarageBand ...

Cake will probably have to give Sonar for Mac away just to get market share.  Probably not a money maker at the get go, considering the development costs.  And it will need to be rock solid from day 1, or let the beatdowns commence...
