One thing to keep in mind, and correct me if I am wrong...in the past when a new version was coming out or new updates where highly anticipated the Bakers would go silent and the forums would flood with, "whats going on? Where are the Bakers?"  What is happening now is very typical of how Cake has operated in the past.

These periods would be painfully long, but eventually the big event would get here.

There is an aspect of "scope creep" that exists in all large projects. The quality, schedule, and budget are all in play.

As they say, you can have good, fast, or cheap.  Pick any two of these.  But not all three.

If the detailed, realistic product requirements were not fully established with project sponsors when the plans were first announced, then changes to design scope would need to be made later during actual development as new product requirements are discovered along the way.

I would think that this community would be more forgiving on slow delivery, if an update on progress were issued.

But anything the Bakers say at this point could be interpreted as another promise.  So they may be hesitant to make an announcement until they are certain of the outcome.  Perhaps they are very close.

I don't own a Mac, or plan to.  My hope has been that with a cross-platform DAW, the future of Cakewalk could be assured, as well as move it out of the "other" DAW category

I believe I may be able to give a unbiased opinion. not always easy for me because I am happy with Cakewalk/Sonar. So I tend to take sides with them. not afraid to admit that. No doubt This rubs people the wrong way, Cakewalk said in the Fall and we are still waiting. I've even heard "Cakewalk simply gauging how many might be interested, not beginning production which does seem odd because the announcement says "The fall".

Another part of me doesn't really care too much. Sure im waiting to load the MAC version up. I got ready for it a few months ago in advance. But im not losing sleep over it. I have so much work to do in Sonar Platinum PC version that it really doesn't matter enough to me. When it gets here it gets here.

Im sure there are those who are running MAC that have been waiting on this because it is essential to them but keep in mind, I though (and I could be wrong) this MAC version was supposed to be like a "free trial beta version".
So those who are waiting (like myself) im going to be using it to play with, not complete real work on it.

So if this is the case, are we really going to get our panty's in a bunch over something that we are just playing with ? I hope not. This has been a good thread (minus a comment or two that got personal about cakewalk) but remember its a free bee, correct ? I'm giving them more time to complete it in hopes it will work 90% no bugs.

Trust me I have my issues with Cakewalk, not the time or the place (on this thread) to air them out.
I tend to keep that too myself (or fill my wife's ear full of my troubles ) but for those waiting, my best to you and hope we get this soon.

Yes , I too would like to see a Mac version of SONAR .

Sound Vulcan Logic dictates that my best choice is to make a decision to choose not to hold Cakewalk responsible for meeting my expectations regarding the timeline of when a Mac version of SONAR is gonna happen .

When my Logic is in doubt , I always try to remember what my mamma told me when I was just a little Vulcan in the crib

It does make for fairly bad PR - I told several of my clients to expect a Mac version of some kind soon, which is what was advertised when the lifetime membership was promoted.

So you told users of a Mac version when all CW said was they would have an Alpha version? Were you expecting clients to use an Alpha version?
