Anyone know if 'Patch Point is adding 6dB of gain' will affect older projects? Also, am I correct in assuming that aux tracks and patch points work similarly in this situation?

An aux track is an audio track with a patch point as input. So, any changes to patch points will affect the according aux track in the same way.
 
The "Adding 6db" issue is a bug fix, so it should no longer happen. I don't know under which conditions it happend, but not all patch points were affected. So I think, in most cases it should not affect older projects, except if they have a patch point with that particular problem.
 
I tried for a simple example with a single audio track going out to a patch point and then to an aux track, and there was no difference before and after the new update. In both cases, the aux track had the same level as the original track.
