• SONAR
  • Mackie control sonar PDF/Lexan overlay plea

Hi All,

I've recently purchased a second hand mackie control(*) from ebay, and I understand that there were such things as lexan overlays that could be placed over the controls to show SONAR specific functionality and that, in lieu of the lexan overlays, Mackie used to provide PDFs of them that could be printed out...

Understandably, being a relatively ancient bit of kit, Mackie no longer have the PDF overlays on their website, so I was wondering if one of you kind souls would happen to have the PDF of the Mackie control (non-pro version) overlay for SONAR that you could send me so that I could print it off, that would be very much appreciated.

Of course, if any of you happen to have a physical SONAR lexan Overlay that you'd be willing to send me if I sent a pre-paid self adressed envelope (as I have seen offered a good few years back), that would be even better, but I suspect that would be more than I'd dare to hope for!

Many thanks in advance,

Graysters

(* actually it's a 'logic control' surface, but with appropriate firmware for mackie mode)

Welcome to the forums.
I have a ton of Overlays but unfortunately I only have one Sonar overlay (for myself).
There is some out there on the internet because I looked as well because I wanted to build a template to create my own. I have a lot of custom presets on mine (the top, right 8 buttons) they will do anything if you use the MCU software that comes with sonar. Cut, Copy, open views, Bounce to clips, 100 different combos.

Like you I picked up a Mackie Control unit off of Craigslist used for 175.00 us dollars. it was a steal.
this machine is a work horse. its amazing. all my faders are motorized and working (though I don't use them all that much to be honest.)

Im looking to pick up a used EXT now but those are hard to come by for the right price.

PS- just saw this. Ebay here for 12.50

Graysters - where are you?
I'm assuming USA, but I know where you can get an overlay in Europe.

Hi Vinyl Junkie,

Actually, I'm in England (probably should have said that in my first post!)

Cheers,

This is the official place for Mackie spares in Europe. Pretty hard to find anywhere else!

Thanks Vinyl Junkie, that's useful.

I may consider that option, but the cheapskate in me would still be interested in getting hold of the PDF version if anyone has it tucked away on their hard drive?

I give up.  I have the PDF.  I tried telling you in my previous comment that I edited.
In my first comment I said: " I Looked as well because I wanted to build a template to create my own" I took the PDF and created custom ones for Sonar. Maybe I wasn't clear enough but it still seems like you ignored my comment.

Chuck.... I'm really sorry, I read your comment, and completely missed the bit where you said you had the PDF of the overlay. I'll be honest, on a second reading, I wasn't clear that you had it.

If you do, and would be willing so send it to me, I'd be ever so greatful.

Many thanks,

Quick bump in case anyone has the mackie PDF overlay for Sonar and would be willing to email it to me. I'd be most greatful if you could drop me a PM

Cheers,
