Hi-

I still get this when I check my Windows 10 update status:

Anyone else? I reserved my upgrade weeks ago and according to MS, my PC meets the specs.

Thanks-

Susan

Hi Susan,

At last someone else waiting !

Its frustrating hearing all the stories about installation etc.

You can force the download via the W10 reserve app, but you'll still need a key to activate i guess.....

Oh well, back to the waiting

Cheers
Jerry

Not that I have been very excited about, nor really looking for ward to windows 10, but I was a little curious, so after waiting a while after signing my 2 laptops and 2 music PC's up for the free upgrade, I decided to download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, downloaded the iso, then restarted the Media Creation Tool and let it upgrade one of my laptops (wouldn't you know not 6 hours later the upgrade came through in Windows update) Everything went smoothly, everything seems to work, Microsoft Edge (New Browser) seems a little buggy, at least on these forums. I actually can't stand looking at it, it's hideous, but seems to work ok. I'm about to try out the rollback, and upgrade to Windows 7, I did back the laptop up before letting the Windows 10 install, so all should be fine.

There are plenty of posts here about how to force an upgrade.

According to MS there are a couple of reasons why you haven't seen 'advance to go'.

a) A staggered rollout between countries
b) A rollout based of make/model of machines.

I think they are seeing if it works on a few models identical to yours before they roll it out to all models.

I also speculate it might also be down to driver compatibility. If the drivers aren't quite ready yet they hold back. Not only that they are letting others do the testing before you get it.

Hi Susan,
Have you checked your C: drive for this folder:
$Windows.~BT

I never received any type of confirmation from MS.
On July 29th or 30th... the install folder was present on my C: drive.
You can also download and create physical install media (DVD or Flash-Drive).

Just be sure to have a backup image file before installing Win10 (just in case).

I waited for my Studio-Capture drivers update notification a couple of days. When they showed updated, I used the Windows Media Creation tool and installed from the dvd. I made sure to custom install so I wouldn't lose my files. Other than the old Roland drivers blocking the new ones, I had no issues so far!
All I had to do was uninstall the old Roland drivers and the new ones came online.
Also, I had to re-id my computer at XLN for my AD2 and all is good!

Not sure about your case Susan but for me (and a lot of others) the update failed.  You can check this by going into Windows Update and looking at the 'update history'. Mine clearly showed that the win 10 update failed.

This is what I did and it worked perfectly.
