I use an old Ensoniq pedal that came with my ESQ-1 in 1988.  That poor thing has been stomped on, yanked from its plug, tripped over, home to roaches, wet, rusted in the salty ocean air, and generally abused for nearly 30 years.  IT'S STILL ROCKIN' !

I'd buy another one if I could.

Hmmm this is kind of interesting... Never thought of this at all. Would be really great to be able to have foot pedals to start/stop/record/rewind using feet. Think my dad had something like that ages ago but for his analog gear...

I used to have pedals for my analog fostex e-16. They worked great for punching in, or any kind of record start stop. Used my cheapo last night - easy to use and allowed me to focus on the playing and keeping my hands on the guitar. Same would be true for any kind of record track. So far, very good purchase.

Glad you got the good end of the crap shoot :}
Once you use one you wonder why you never thought of this before.

The other use I find handy is for recording vocals. You can stand up and move away from your DAW and use the foot pedal to control Sonar. This makes punching in a tricky passage less tedious.

You are spot on with the benefits and me wondering why I didn't do this sooner!?!?
