  • Why can I sometimes not adjust clip gain?

Ok riddle me this: sometimes, but not all the time, when I try to raise or lower the gain for an entire clip using clip gain envelopes, nothing wants to happen.

1. I select the clip
2. I set the track edit filter to clip envelopes=>gain
3. I hover the mouse on the upper middle portion of the clip to get the "adjust selection range" icon or whatever it's called
4. I drag the mouse down (or up) and nothing wants to move

Most of the time it works but sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, simply trying again doesn't solve it, though most of the time I can still manually create nodes and adjust those. It's a major PITA and I can't figure it out. The clip isn't locked btw.

+1. I'm having the same issue. It seems to happen more when I try to readjust the gain of a clip I have already adjusted once. When I try to readjust the level, it refuses to move.

Any other suggestions or clever ideas are welcome in the mean time!

EDIT: not even sure why I bother

The only time i've ever had that happen is when my cursor isn't set to 'Move.'

Oh, except for when I've got the dropdown set for another envelope.

Two times.  The only TWO TIMES I've ever had that happen...

I usually use the smart tool, is that what you mean? This afternoon it happened again and I tried the edit tool but no success.

I've found the "smart tool" to be somewhat unreliable, although I'm probably not using it correctly then.
Not edit, "Move" - the button right next to Edit.

I'll wait till it happens again and try that, thanks.
