I definitely do not need to use CTRL. I would need to use CTRL if I were to "grab" the line and drag it up or down. However what I'm doing uses the line moving cursor you get when you hover near the top of the clip. You don't use CTRL for that, in fact if you do it moves the entire envelope except the end point of a clip, which I guess could be useful but is a different effect altogether.
That is correct! The
Ctrl key is only needed when the
Edit Filter is set to
Clips.
When the
Edit Filter is set to
Clip Gain, the
Smart Tool cursor changes to a double-headed vertical arrow with a horizontal "I" beam when the cursor is in the upper 1/3 of the clip. You only have to drag it up or down.
I was testing to see if I could reproduce the problem and it happened to me one time in about 10 minutes of testing. I tried adding the Ctrl key since it had been mentioned, but the envelope still would not move. Unfortunately, I could not find a recipe that would reliably cause the problem.
This doesn't really help your situation, but just adds confirmation of your experience.
