Hi. First of all, I would uninstall ASIO4ALL, reboot, and try again.
All the best.

hi Rocco, hava a RME too....in the 'Devices' menu try select 'RME analog output 1' and deselected all the others.
close Sonar and turn off your RME, then restart and I expect its ok.

Oh, and would advise to disable 'read caching'  and 'write caching' in the 'Sync and Caching' menu.
that helps generally on preventing crashes/audio engine dropouts etc imo.

Hey thanks for replying. I did that and the same error message. This is extremely frustrating. Everything was working perfectly when I shut my studio down for remodeling last year. Set back up and now this issue. I do have audio in the PC. Just not Sonar. Tho I did do the windows updates. I wonder if those are causing my issue?

yes the Windows updates and any anti virussoftware can cause probs, therefore I have an offline dedicated Sonar computer without those and never have such probs....can recommend it.
but you'll fix this prob surely....
have you checked in your Windows hardware configuration/setting that your RME is the only and default audio device ?
Then try ticking 'share drivers with other programs' in Sonar Preferences under 'playback and recording'.
And again, make sure you have only 'analog output 1'  checked like I wrote before.
Ofcourse, restart your computer when you change the settings in your hardware setting.
It's some simple setting thing thats the problem, don't worry !

and try creating a new project to see if it's only your old files that have this prob maybe.
good luck

MS changed the way legacy drivers are used in recent updates. and they delete the legacy 1394 driver. i had to dl the driver from MS. had to reinstall it twice, frequently have to un/reinstall the m-audio driver.
