Corrected post!!:
Does anyone have a Motif Rack XS unit with an FWmLan card that is working in Windows 10 via firewire.  I trying to get mine setup but I can't even find a compatible driver on the web.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ok it seems I didn't know what I had in my Motif XS rack unit.  I have an FW16E firewire card not an mLan card so I might be in luck.  I am downloading the driver and support documents from Yamaha today and will test the unit for connectivity in Sonar Platinum and Windows 10.  I'll let everyone know how it goes.

i don't have that, barry, but i do know that windows update removes the legacy 1394 firewire driver. booted up one day to find i had no audio interface.

i got the driver from ms. now i keep that driver file and the install file for my m-audio firewire 1814 in a handy folder. i have to use one or the other frequently...

dlion16,
Thank you for the reply.  Can you be a little more specific regarding the actual driver file like maybe a link and are you just going into device manager and choosing it for your device?

Hmmm, I have that motif but have never tried to hook it up like that. I'll have to check it out when I go up to the studio. I usually just record the audio to Sonar, lol

stevesweat,
Well I'll keep you posted on it.  I'm trying to get it working right now.  I've downloaded and installed the Yamaha Steinberg FW windows 64 bit driver found here:
http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?site=usa.yamaha.com&language=en&category_id1=16244&category_id2=16381&category_id3=&product_id=774999

and I am about to install the editor and Rack XS extension from the Yamaha download site as well.  The benefit is it frees up midi ports on my MOTU timepiece and analog inputs on my MOTU 2408 for other devices.   I'd love to get it working.

Well I'm making some progress.  I had the firewire cable coming from the Motif XS Rack firewire card going to a port which is part of an expansion bracket in the expansion card slot area of the case that's connects to the motherboard 2nd firewire port.  I moved the cable to the main motherboard firewire port on the motherboard port area and now the device connects.  Turning it on and off causes a windows 10 sound event.  Also, I can see it in the Motif XS editor program but it is not showing up as an audio device in Windows 10 sound hardware or in Sonar Platinum.  If anyone has any ideas at this point I'm open to suggestions.

Does anyone have a Motif keyboard or rack unit working in Sonar Platinum with the firewire card?

Yes, I have a motif XF with the FW16 inserted. I normally use the saffire pro 40, but to test, I changed it to the motif, and it works fine. I would recommend the following:
- make sure the motif is switched off
- remove the currently installed driver
- download this driver: http://download.yamaha.com/search/detail/?site=nl.yamaha.com&language=nl&category_id1=16277&category_id2=16381&product_id=1073317&asset_file_language=EN&asset_id=21027
that should be a file called win_fw_v166x64.zip.
- unpack this, and install it, make sure you reboot your machine after installation.
- switch on the motif, windows should recognize it. A tray icon should appear and if you double click that, it should tell you a motif is connected. You can set the latency and bitrate in that tray utility as well.
- There is another utility, in the zip file you downloaded called ysfwutility.exe. That is located in the utility directory. If you run that, you can set the firewire latency (different from driver latency). You can also set the firewire speed there. If you have issues, try playing with the settings in that tool. I do believe it requires a reboot after every change.
- If all goes well, windows will install your motif. And it should be visible in Sonar.
- Make sure you select Asio. Then select the Yamaha drivers. (don't use asio4all...)

Hope this helps!

by the way... Not all Firewire chipsets work well with this card. It is a bit finicky... I have a Texas Instruments card, which works fine. I've had some issues with NEC chipsets, and another one that I can't remember the name of now...
