I have the free version up and running in X3.

IIRC You have to use their downloader to get and install all elements. Don't install only the libraries.

Run in stand alone version once installed and set up the midi and audio., you may also have to point the engine to the libraries.

Then run it in Sonar and you should be ok, it inserts like any soft synth.

Cheers,
Jerry

Hey Jerry,

I have both downloadables  installed from the below page:

Mapped, pointed to the libraries and I can make a sound using that Sofware Suite, using the library, no problem there. But.....

"Then run it in Sonar and you should be ok, it inserts like any soft synth."

That I  do not know how - and I wonder how is it even possible because the Independence Free library has files (samples) in a format not recognised by Sonar.

Independence is not listed as a VST or a soft synth.

Any ideas before I buy a ticket to Ireland and get a real bodhran, please? :)

Sorry for being such a pain. Otherwise I love Sonar X3!

with best regards, MFAP

lowdown
When installing my version, it placed the x64 .DLL in  C/programnes x86/Steinberg/VST/Magix/Independence/x64.
Rather than installing again, I then set Sonar to scan this location, it then showed up in VST Instruments.

Low,

ok...it might not work because I think I chose another location than that. Hmmm.

Ok, better de-install and let it have it's way and see if that helps. Cheers, very helpful!

I put mine in c:\program files\cakewalk\vst plugins\VSTplugins64   cos I only have 64bit plugins.

When you point SOnar to the c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\vst plugins it will find all that is in there and the sub-folders.

Cheers,
Jerry
