I have downloaded all the files for a Sonar Platinum installation, 26 files total.
Assuming the Sonar program needs to be installed first,
is there a particular order the other setup files need to be installed?
 
With all those setup files, it is easy to see why Cake Command Center makes the process much easier,
however my DAW is not, and has never been connected to the internet or any network.

Is there a specific reason why you have never connected it to the internet?
 

SPlat first, then run thru the rest.
My guess is you will get a bunch of C++ libraries installed.
There my be an "optimum" install order, but I've never seen it discussed.
My DAW is only on the internet (3-4 times a year) to run the CCC, IK's Custom Shops, Win 7 Updates;
I didn't run that this time, probably won't ever again.
I have MS Essentials installed, it does not seem to interfere with SONAR; if virus protection slowing down
your DAW is a concern.
I'm sure someone will chime in on the install order.

One quick question, are you going to be using the default locations for this sonar install or do you have multiple HD's ?

After installing the two SONAR installers, Platinum and Platinum Core Plugins, the order of the rest does not matter. I am not sure it really matters to install the two Platinum installers first but have not tried it.

Chuck is right, that is a big one, and is a great example why one should never move forward based
on my advise alone.
And as always scook is a wealth of knowledge, I missed core plugins as well

That is why it does not go on the internet.
I do have backups, however if something doesn't work I know it has nothing to do with a virus, an autoupdate or the internet.
Peace of mind, priceless.
 
My projects are on a second HDD and samples on a third one.
 
I'll give it a go as scook suggested.

I (and I am sure many others) have been using machines while connected to the internet for around 21 years, I have yet to lose data as a result. It just makes life 1000 percent easier for updates and what-not.

You are right of course, however I don't think I am the only one not wanting to connect his DAW to the internet.
 
Up to now, it wasn't a hassle because I have the discs; for me, this is the first version that is download only.
I'll see how installation goes, but 26 installs is a lot for sure, for just one product.
 
It's not only because of data, it's the installation also. When you have over 100 drivers, utilities, programs, etc to install in your computer, then you tweek everything to your liking, it is a lot of time to invest and I do not want to have to do it again. Also, I don't have to do backups often which saves me more time.
 
It's not necessarily the best way, but it is just the way I have done it in the past.
