  • Cannot find older Problem Report threads [CWBRN] on this forum - where to find? (p.2)

This is a user forum, not a ticket tracking system. The only way a user gets a number is filling out the a problem report form which has nothing to do with this forum. Not that it matters but the thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3420721 was created by a different user. You might find a thread on the subject by searching for posts by the user referencing the CWBRN.

Have you tried searching along these lines?:

site:forum.cakewalk.com Source Format encoder

I got a number of hits there, with my thinking being of finding threads with similar content and context, to what you are searching for.  The CWBRN was likely not yet generated when prior discussions were being created.

Hope that helps,

And, just for grins on the way to me collapsing for a much-needed nap, I ran another search using:

site:forum.cakewalk.com Source Format encoder Mitch registry

And I got what might be the workaround thread you were seeking on the registry edit that got things going for that Mitch_1 member

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Can-anyone-help-me-how-to-export-an-AAC-file-from-Sonar-Platinum-m3225867-p2.aspx

There is a whole first page of the above thread you might want to scroll back to review, as well.

Thanks, I have, but there's nothing else... It's a bit frustrating that I cannot find the post from the only person that actually indentified and solved my problem...

Well you did find a related post after all... It's not the acutual post where Mitch_1 explains the workaround but it's a lot closer... thanks very much!

I wasn't sure if it applied, but looked like in the ball park anyway - the idea was to get you thinking of some kind of text in the old threads that you might be able to add to your search terms, the solution WAS talked about, so if you can zero in by searching for the kinds of terminology they were discussing, maybe you will get an exact match.

Best of luck with it,

I checked the user list and found that this user's id is Mitch_I (that's an upper case "i") rather than Mitch_1. Maybe that will help with the searching. It may be even better to send him a PM and ask him directly.

Thank you Bob, I guess I was kinda focused on the CWBRN number that I found but now I know that's not (necessarily) related to the user forum... Maybe it's an idea that all problem reports are published somewhere on this forum, or that a problem report should always be based on or linked to a forum post? Then I would have probably already found my answer...

Yes I am aware that it's Mitch_I (see my OP) but I misspelled in my previous post. Thanks for thinking with me!

Yeah - I typed lazily - I had only used Mitch in my search, and just hadn't gone back to double check the complete name - I knew it was either a 1 or I and just took a guess (and guessed wrong).
