Anyone has any experience with the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 New Generation?  I had the earlier version of the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 and everything was working fine.  Since I've upgraded the playback works; however, the keyboard produce no sound when I select a track and play.  On the back of the Focusrite I have the output of the Roland RD-300 NX plugged into Line Input 3 and Line Outputs 1 & 2 going to the monitors.  In SONAR the setup says

Input Drivers
Focusrite USB ASIO Input 1
Focusrite USB ASIO Input 3
Focusrite USB ASIO SPDIF 1
(All are checked)

Output Drivers
Focusrite USB ASIO Output 1
Focusrite USB ASIO Output 3
Focusrite USB ASIO Output 5
(All are checked)

What is wrong here???

I don't have a keyboard but I just plugged my mp3 player into the back of my gen2 6i6 and managed to record audio from it (using "Left Focusrite USB Asio Input 3" as the source).  Does anything show up on the "Analogue 3" meter within the Focusrite Control app?  Does the same keyboard work if you use one of the front inputs?

Sounds like you need to verify the Focusrite MixControl (or whatever it's called for second generation interfaces) is routed for DAW use.

Thank you both for your replies.  I had two things not configured correctly.

a. I selected the Analogue + Digital preset (I love how they spell Analog ) and tweaked it for my specs.
b. I then saved it as a snapshot for future use.
c. In SONAR I forgot  to select the Focusrite USB MIDI In under MIDI -> Devices.
d. In SONAR I unchecked all Audio Devices -> Input Drivers except for Focusrite USB ASIO Input 3 (That's the ONLY one I use)

Once I did these things, like magic everything works!

Again, thank you all for your input.

Just an added thought.  Focusrite Support told me we cannot use the new generation mix software on the older generation Scarlett units.  This is going to make it harder to answer questions like this, where we cannot see the software being used.

Analogue is the correct spelling. Analog is the Americanization. Same as programme and program.

Hi
What Is the difference between the new Focusrite 6i6 to the older one .
I shouldn't think there Is much difference.
My Original Scarelett 6i6 Is 100%.No need to upgrade unless Focusrite stopped supporting It.

All the Best

According to the manual:

"In developing the Second Generation series of Scarlett interfaces, we have enhanced both the  performance and feature set including support for sample rates up to 192 kHz, improved mic preamp  performance with low noise and plenty of gain, and upgraded instrument inputs with additional  headroom for recording the loudest guitar parts without clipping."

I never had a first generation model so I can't comment on how true any of that is.

Another new feature -- and this is a biggie if you're a heavy MIDI user -- much lower latencies.

All in all, an incredible jump in features.  The 18i8 is on my "to buy" list: A great-sounding, USB2 interface with RTL in the 4-7 ms range, two headphone jacks, and ADAT optical-in (for 8 more channels of say, drums) for $350?  That's insane!

The software bundle is ridiculously generous too.  I paid $60 (and that was a deal!) for the Softube Drawmer S73 plugin... and it's included free with the new Scarletts!

Sorry to sound like a commercial, but I think this new line is a definite game-changer in the market.
