I remember when I click on the yellow square after the thread title that brings you to the last unread post actually brought you to the last unread post. Lately (months?), it dumps you somewhere in the middle of the thread. I then have to scroll down until I find a post that is not older then 24 hours. (I usually read the forum once a day.) I waste a lot of time scrolling and then find out that I have to jump several pages to get to an unread post.

I checked the settings and don't see any options for this. What are others seeing?

Thanks,

Walt

Yup, I noticed that too. More often than not it doesn't even take me to the last page never mind the last post.

Same issue with latest Firefox.
I noticed if I use another browser, it works correctly.
PaleMoon (a Firefox fork)and IE both work OK so it might be adblock or another plugin that screws it up.

Yup. Been doing that for a while for me and it's annoying.

It seems that not everyone experiences this though so not sure what's up. We were trying to find a common thread in the CH about this with no luck but my guess is it's a combination of browser + browser settings/addons + operating system.

Firefox with ABP and NoScript on a Win7 64 laptop here... in case we're gonna try to trouble shoot this.

Cheers.

I'm looking at disabling plugins.

PS: I've just not been clicking that and instead clicking on the main thread title (if it's a single page thread) OR on the last page # (if it's a multi page thread) then PgDn and work my way backwards from the end to where I left off.

I disabled Ublock-origin and Disconnect extensions...no change.
I noticed that if it is a thread where I have not posted, it works correctly.
Otherwise, it takes me to the post following my first post.
I think I tried deleting the Cakewalk cookie a while back and that worked at first but then the problem came back.

I opened firefox in safe mode w/o plugins. It is not plugins.
I looked at PaleMoon settings (working).
Palemoon is clearing history on close. Firefox is not.
I set Firefox to clear history on close. It works !.
I changed it back to no clear history on close. It still works!
There are some clear history options that may be important.
