I'm new to Music Creator 6.0 and have just imported a sound file that was recorded on a Zoom Q3HD recorder.  But at the very beginng on the sound file the volume is way hoo high.  It only lasts for about the first beat of the song but I want to reduce the volume just at the beginning where it is too loud.  How can I do this with Music Creator?  Please remember I'm new at this.  Thank you ahead of time to anyone that offers help.

Insert a volume envelope to pull the volume down to start and then use it to raise the level after that loud intro.

The yellow lines in the picture are volume envelopes.... if you click on the line it adds a node ....add 2 nodes close together and then click on the straight part of the line to drag the level up or down as needed. 
Here is a pic of nodes used to bring instruments in and out of the mix. You can look closely and see on track 11 that there are a number of nodes there that were inserted and not touched. 

Give that a try and see if it solves the problem.   there are other ways but this one is quick and easy.

Read the help files about automation. Volume envelope is normally the way to go, but... I don't know if MC has slip fade function, which could be the easiest way if the loud part is in the very, very beginning of the clip, as you say.

Anyway, it's useful to read the whole help file/reference manual (I don't know if MC has the manual in pdf-format) through. Click every button and dropdown and read what the Help file has to say about it.
That way you get an idea of what can be done and what not, even though you, obviously, can not remember it all by one reading.

Also, it's very useful to put your system and soundcard specs in your signature, so you don't need to separately write them every time you ask a question.

Sorry... how do I get the volume envelope (yellow line) to show up?

cakewalk has some very useful videos on this site that you should
watch so you can learn the basics. i am on my phone so it is not easy
to copy links. look up mc6 and the vids are not hard to find.
