I got the book "Cakewalk Synthesizers" by Simon Cann 1st edition.  It was all of $6.00 with s&h on Amazon.  Great book btw BIT I can not find anywhere to get a copy of the original Triangle.   Found Triangle II and I realize that for most that would be great as it would be an improved version but I really would like to have the original to go threw the entire learning process.  Any one out there still have a copy they could send me?  Or know of a download site?  Your help would be most appreciated.

Good try.  Been there.  It's labeled as being Triangle but picture is of triangle II and the download is Triangle II.  I have written Simon Cann at his website in the hopes tha the might be able to point me to where I might find the original.

It is the correct file, the download is T2111.exe, the installer for last version of 32bit VST Triangle II made.

ekurburski, I just took the chance and installedl Triangle I from the link I gave you before and it is indeed Triangle I.
I had Norton check it out and it reported no issues.
 
And it appears to work fine in X3.

I don't know anything about the file you linked. I guess you are correct about Triangle I vs Triangle II read past that in the first post. The book mentions Triangle I on two pages but still recommends downloading Triangle II instead and refers to Triangle II throughout the second chapter. Never used Triangle I myself.

Thank you all again.  I know I'm being kind of kooky about wanting the first version as it does no where near as much as the second but I'm the type that wants to collect every synth I can get my hands on.  I think its cool to see how someone goes from step one to step 2 in their development of the program.  Again thanks a ton.

I also have an rgc:audio museum .  Triangle->Square->Pentagon and then the more modern ones.
It's nice to see the evolution.  In Triangle 1 you have to move the mouse in circles to turn a knob.
 
Now if only René would come back and build a Hexagon I.
