There was always a buzz about the place, but after the initial relief that BandLab rescued Sonar it feels as though many people have left. There has been an absence of activity and I get the feeling that many people have left. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I don't feel that...

Yes, many people moved to other software, but many people have also become new users.

It does feel more quiet here though. I do agree with that. We seem to be simmering to some degree. We were not promised monthly updates anymore, but we've been pretty close.

I for one have backed off a bit as I don't know or expect much more than basic ongoing support. They may yet have more up their' sleeves

Some of the quiet seems to be that outside of each of our personal issues, CbB continues to run just fine.

I don't answer as many posts due to the non-functioning message reply system as well as it they seem to be answered by the time I get there finding issues I could be of help with.

I continue to look forward to each update and await new announcements...

I do not believe this forum is accepting new users.
The sooner BandLab can bring up the new forum and decommission this one the better.

Yes, if there were a forum that were allowing registration for all the users that have recently adopted the new, freeware program, it would not be as quiet. Not by a long shot.

As soon as there is a new forum, it will be inundated.

This forum could be described as a sinking ship, or maybe a beached one, but CbB certainly is not.

I really hope a new forum happens soon. People finding their way around such a behemoth need community. And BandLab can benefit so much from the feedback from new users.

I do not feel that way, it's quiet but not loud. :)
If you go over to Bandlab, you will notice that the demographics over there is a bit different compare to the average Cakewalk user. I think it will be very interesting when things are fully integrated.

But as pointed out, things are predominately working fine, meaning people are more into creating music rather than coming on here.

I don't think its sending out password resets either, so if someone locks out, they are stuck.

Posted about this last week, but nobody tried to recreate.

Part of it may be that CbB, in my opinion, is the most stable crash free version in many years. This is no accident, Noel and others have worked hard to achieve this.  I've used Cakewalk since 1992 and have seen a lot of bugs and instability. IN my setup I immediately noticed a difference and this has continued for about 6 months. I've been using 2018.07 for a month and am very pleased.

An outline of the development road map would be encouraging, even if it includes some blue sky elements.

Hi. I don't visit quite as often as I used to, simply because of the missing emails/message reply system.
All the best.
