I do not believe this forum is accepting new users.
The sooner BandLab can bring up the new forum and decommission this one the better.

I don't think its sending out password resets either, so if someone locks out, they are stuck.

Posted about this last week, but nobody tried to recreate.

i tried to change my profile pic...

So you're asking the people who are still here why others are not? Everybody who's not here please raise your hand. :)

gmp makes a good point - Cakewalk is extremely stable. I'd suggest one other factor: most of its users are old hands who know how to work it and how to troubleshoot their own problems. These two factors explain why traffic isn't what it used to be. Remember when X1 was released? This was a busy place back then.

it's kind of ironic when they are a social media company, etc, i'm genuinely surprised they didn't prio #1 the forum migration, but maybe the diff was just too big

I have always come here to see what's new. I'm only still dropping by to see if anything exciting has gone down.
Seems like the software itself is going though a very good faze where they are now focusing on bug fixes and stability. That's not very exciting, but to me it's supper important.  Personally I don't see anything else new needed and this is great software for what I do with it.

I always learn something when reading the threads, this sadly has diminished as there does seem to be fewer and fewer questions that catch my fancy. This forum, I guess, will die soon and hopefully the new forum will be in the same format. Otherwise it stands the risk of loosing a lot of very helpful folks.

My theory is that because so many users were trying out Studio One, Reaper & Mix Craft, they wanted to prioritise getting CbB out there ASAP to prove to everyone it's still alive and continuing to be worked on.

ok, fair enough, they did that, quite easily i expect as it's basically just the post-gibson builds of sonar, time has passed, so what about the rest of it?

Bearing in mind everything on BandLab is free at the moment, I guess they're working on a new website to cope with purchases - i.e. all the other Cakewalk products like Rapture Pro, Z3TA 2, Pro Channel modules etc. Part of this will be to also migrate all the current users' products, as well as new authentication methods etc, as well as a new forum.

The BandLab Assistant seemed a bit rushed to my mind, and there was loads of bug reports on it, so I guess they want to take their time to get this right.

Any website that has to deal with online payments takes a HUGE amount of testing. When I did PayPal integration on my website, it took ages to go through what I thought was every combination of transactions, and I still ended up with outliers that weren't handled properly.

I have noticed that there isn't the activity that there once was, but then after the initial bandlab takeover news died down there hasn't really been much to discuss. The "new" version is just Platinum with a new name and a couple of minor tweaks and as has been said the forum has not been accepting new users for some time now, so all the new customers generated by bandlab are not here.

I am surprised that this forum is still going. I thought the new one would have been up quicker for the benefit of the noobs as they must all have 101 questions, but I guess taking time to get it right is better than a rushed thing that doesn't work well. My main concern with that would be that the noobs who have problems and can't join the forum and can't figure out how to reslove issues will just move on to another software because this one cost them nothing in the first place, so they have little reason to persevere if it's not working for them, which would be a shame for all concerned.

After the initial blind panic and chaos, and DAW auditioning and finding out Bandlab has taken over, I for one got back to doing what I love (and make a living out of) - music production. The rest of the world can go worry about how primitive certain other "Pro-DAW"s still are!! :O)
