Hey Guys, thanks for all what you do and will do.
The staff view is a miser, we all know that and it's a tremendous work to get it better (It has been better before...long ago : prior to 8.5)
But there is ONE thing I'm begging on bended knees and I think it's not that difficult to rectify :
The first 4 visible tracks ARE NOT recorded along with the layout. I must select them each time I open the file !
PLEASE do something !!!!!!
   Many thanks in advance

Not sure I understand:-

The first 4 visible tracks ARE NOT recorded along with the layout.

As I am not seeing this when I use staff view.  They same view is retained from project session to project session.

Perhaps a screen shot would help.  Are you using screensets or lenses?

The "lenses" feature don't save the selected staff view layout. I agree with Mage_et_lent, the staff view needs some updates.

It's easy to see :
Make a project with 6 Midi tracks.
Open your 6 tracks in the Staff View.
Save your project with the staff view open.
Reopen, look at your staff view : Track 3 and 5 are missing.

This didn't happen before. I think it began with Platinum.
That's pretty annoying for me, because all my projects have the lyrics and lead voice notes in the track 3.

EDIT : Maybe I'm stupid and there is something with the Screensets. I tried to open tracks 3 to 10 and lock the staff view and save the project. But when I reopen, the Main Screenset shows me only 1, 2 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
I must click on 1 in the screensets to get my tracks 3 to 10 back, this reactualizes the Main Screenset.
Is it so or do I do something wrong ?
Thanks for your help !

Just tested this 08/09/18 09:42 BST (UK)
Created new Project
Inserted 1 MIDI Track.
Duplicated MIDI track 5 times.
Selected all 6 MIDI Tracks.
Opened Staff view, it displayed all 6 MIDI tracks.
Saved project with Staff view in focus.
Closed CbB
Started CbB
Opened project from Start screen.
Project opened in Staff view displaying all 6 MIDI tracks.

Then I changed the layout of the first 4 tracks to be a full clef,t saved, closed and reopened all 6 MIDI tracks displayed as expected.

Unfortunately I am not seeing the issue you describe Mage_et_lent

Ok, thanks a lot for your concern, Wookie.

I think there is an old setting that I can't get rid of, somewhere.
Now, when I recall the Screenset 01, my tracks are how I need.
That's already much better than going to select the tracks in the staff view.

I'll check further and if I find anything valuable, I'll post it here.
Consider it as solved, and thanks again.

You have to establish what each screenset contains unless you copy from one to the next each one is different.
They can also have different key-stroke commands and Control Bar configurations if my furry brain remembers correctly.

I can not be much help with screensets or lenses as I do not use either I have a configuration of screen layouts and Pro Channel, control bar that suits my work flow.  I save that in a template and then use that template for all new projects.

I found out : It was a lens I had recorded as it was new in an update. I recorded a new lens and everything is ok, now.
Thanks to all of you and specially to you, Wookiee.
