Hi, y'all.

Got Infected Mushroom based on the unanimous kudos from members of the forum.  Great.  Tried to find said plugin scanning every folder I could find related to Waves, but to no avail.  Support person at Waves sent me a link titled "How to find you Waves plugins in Sonar' and i did exactly as it described.  Now, the only plugin that works is AD2.  No Amplitube, no TH3, no nuthin'.  When the project loaded is said a long list of plugins where not loaded.  Error message I get once the product is loaded reads:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\BitBridge.exe
Can't load Module. 'dehaupt CVto(N)RPN'

Any ideas?  Praying someone has gone through this before and knows how to revert or fix.

Best,

Marc

I believe that is a failure of a 32bit plug-in made with synthedit. It might clear up is SONAR is run as administrator.

if your main problem is Waves plugins and you haven't updated Waves Central in a wile. Do that 1st, you can find the update in Downloads at the waves site. You may have to upload all licenses to the cloud. Then down load them all at once. then install Infected Mushroom.
Then rescan vsts. hope that helps.

One more thing, if a lot of plug-ins are missing in SONAR, it usually means the scanner failed. The scanner can fail if the scan path includes paths containing dlls which are not VST plug-ins. Care should be taken when adding paths to the scan path to insure the scanner is restricted to areas that only contain VST plug-ins.

OT...

Is it just me or does it seem like a really dumb idea to name computer program type stuff things like "VIRUS" or "INFECTED" and so forth?

The names aren't cool enough to warrant the potential confusion to the user and/or AV software.

I assume you talking about Infected Mushroom Pusher?  It works fine here for me.

Beepster, Infected Mushroom is the name of a band, who build this processor with Waves.

Thanks for the suggestions, all.  This just gets weirder.  I logged on as administrator and many of my plugs showed up, but a couple of things are going on now:
  • TH3 is showing an error: "TH3 cannot be loaded because this is version 3.0.4, while the latest version installed on your system is 3.3.0. Run the TH3 3.3.0 installer to fix the problem."  Strange, because the latest version for download on Overloud.com is 3.0.0.
  • VST scan no longer appears.  When I go to Plugin Manager (I have two links for it under Utilities?!) and try to start a scan there, it says a scan is already underway and to wait until it's finished to start another.  When I click Scan in the VST Settings page in Preferences, nothing happens, where I'd usually see the scan happening.  I haven't seen it since following the instructions from the guy at Waves.
  • Still no Waves plugins showing up.  Wish I'd never followed the instructions on their page.  Silly me.

Chances are the scanner is hung. Go into SONAR Preferences > File > VST Settings and make sure the paths are correct. If vstscan.exe is hung, it will show up in the Windows Task Manager process list. Either kill it from the Task Manager or better reboot. After rebooting, go into SONAR Preferences > File > VST Settings and run a scan (if the scanner is set to manual scan). Managing and running the scanner (if set to manual scan) from Preferences is the preferred method.

Once you manage to restore the scanner to proper operation,  fixing the Waves issue can start. I will leave that to Waves support or those who own Waves plug-ins.

The joy of Waves.  It's great when there are not issues.  The way they could avoid this is ditch their WUP.  You have all of these versions of Waves dlls littering your folder.  Most plugin developers seem to survive without this kind of cash grab.

The funnest part of installing a Waves product is to see which of your 5 DAWs have a no show.
