Is there any reason why on my desktop computer Sonar Platinum allows audio bit rates higher than 24 but my laptop only allows a max of 24 bit?  Both are using current ASIO drivers.  On the laptop the audio bit depth is set to 24 and also greyed out.  On the desktop the the bit depth will drop down displaying 32 bits and higher.  Both computers are basically the same and are running the same versions of Sonar:
Desktop: Intel I7, 2.21ghz, 16 gigs ram, Windows 10 (64 Bit), MOTU Audio Express
Laptop: Intel I7, 2.4 ghz, 16 gigs ram, Windows 10 (64 Bit), MOTU Audio Express

Thanks,

Aric

To my knowledge, there are still no commercially available audio interfaces that have 32-bit or higher converters. Some might accept higher bit depths from the host and re-sample before sending the data to the converters, but the specs on your Audio Express interface suggest it's fixed at 24-bit like my MOTU 424-PCIe system.

So I'm not sure why your desktop is allowing you to set rates other than 24. Your laptop is behaving normally.

Thanks.  I'm not sure what was going on.  I restarted my desktop and everything is fine now.
