  • Has Anyone Been Using The Akai Advance Keyboards For Awhile? (p.2)

Hey BassDaddy, sorry for the delay in my response. I have not gotten the transport to work although in fairness I have not put much time into that effort. I have a Faderport and Zoom R16 that I use for transport functions as well as a wireless computer keyboard so it's not really a priority in my case.

It seems to be a lot of software that comes with it. I don't know anything about Air Music Tech. Is the included decent stuff?

Hybrid and Loom are interesting. The Eighty Eight Piano is very good but it is rather large and heavy on the cpu. I would give them a try, you can always remove them if they are not your cup of tea.

Waiting for a better effort by Namm might not come to pass... encoding/tagging/control links for a huge number of other vsts has got to be very time consuming... there are sooooo many out there...not to mention all the libraries and third parties... I wish there was a published list of which each keyboard covered... To be useful into the future, continual updating of this will be necessary... Akai will hopefully do this.  I do like what I've seen on da tube.

If a vst list is available for the Akai, please post or refer to a link...

Hopefully the next Namm will upgrade these to 88 keys... those using lots of keyswitches and mappable multis, which are becoming very common, can use the 88...

That's a nice list... I'm pretty impressed.  Especially if it analyzes the extra sounds/packs we can get/have for many of those vsts...

Thanks very much... the akai has now jumped to the top of my list if they come out with an 88...
Nice to see the spitfire mapping of eDNA...

will be curious if this becomes a static list or if it's constantly upgraded... and/or updateable if we add sound packs which are tagged already... that would be NICE to know and have...

Boy it better not be a static list. It's a good start but there is a lot of popular stuff missing. All of the Air Musictech and Sonivox that came with the Advance is fully mapped. It's pretty big free package that came with it and it all seems real good to me.

Well, with the release of the NI 88, Akai better wake up...

I understand that the VIP software is the initial release and as such will have issues to be addressed, that is to be expected. However, the lack of response from Akai on their own Forums or anywhere else regarding user issues or inqueries I find disrespectful to their customers, myself included. Perhaps the quality of the Cake Forums has spoiled me!

I have the Akai Advance 49, and IMHA, it is a good step forward. Hopefully the response from NI will "nudge" them to take the next step forward.

I would also like to extend my thanks to all the Forum hosts and users for all the incredible support I have found here and hope I may find myself able to help someone else along their way, as you have helped me in mine

I can't seem to get the advance 49 and VIP to work with X3 through Komplete Audio 6 in Windows 10 ... The keyboard works, sends midi, feels sweet, but the VIP software doesn't connect to the keyboard and I'm big time frustrated.
