The search feature is acting weird, I recently bought the Yamaha 01v96i I like it a lot but I need more inputs.  It is a big upgrade from my Motu Ultralite and Octa-Capture. I was wondering if anyone is using an interface that allows 32 channels input and at least 16 analog out puts or something close to that.  Also will Sonar Plat allow for 2 different interfaces to work together?  If so I will hook back up my octa-capture and use it with the 01.  I got excited when I saw this but I don't believe it is an interface.  So I am curious what you guys and gals are using and the pros/cons also.

I think I just found your interface...  anyway it's what I would use under your circumstances,
simply because it's a whole lot more than just an interface (and because of your Original Post).

Enjoy!

I have a 32 channel rm32ai by Presonus. 32 in, 16 out. Preamps built in. I connect it via FireWire 800, control it with the PC, and with a CS18 controller at engineering position. I can also control it while I am setting up with an iPad. The RM does a really fine job for the money.

I also have a MOTU 1248. I cannot say enough good things about it. When I run this one, it stays in the little studio (well, a treated bedroom anyway). It provides monitoring and playback. I have a really sweet sounding living room (non symmetrical, large) and the house was wired cat5. I plug in another motu AVB unit into the wall in that room and AVB links them together. I also picked up a MOTU AVB hub to add more units if needed. Sonar sees all of the inputs and outputs.

Given the cost of additional units, I suspect that the RM unit may be a good value for you.
