then again there are people like me...active here, didn't take the poll, using Studio One...bought Mixbus as well, tried PT..decided on Studio One.
Where would that put me in the poll?

Seriously, probably is fairly indicative of the dominant shift to S1.

"Where would that put me in the poll? " One of the majority of Cakewalk users who didn't take part in the poll I guess. If everyone had have taken part, other than the numbers, would the result be different? I guess the more people who partake, the more accurate the result but even with a small sample, you should get a clear picture.

I'm not a pollster or statistician. I just did this out of interest, but presumably, if the same thing happened to FLStudio and someone did a similar poll for that, the result would be different and probably Ableton and Bitwig would have come out on top. One of the reasons I thought this might be interesting is because it isn't one of the industry-wide polls. It's specific to disenfranchised Sonar users who presumably chose Sonar over any other DAW for a reason and therefore their reasoning to move to another particular DAW would be different from that of other DAW users.
M and M is the highest selling rekkerd, so it's the best muzik too!!!    ;)

You are arguing against your own poll results using terms like 'I believe'. The only evidence you have are the poll numbers. That is what you must base your conclusion on. Anything else shows a gross misunderstanding of the simplest of statistical mechanisms.

As to the results, other than your own bias and given the tiny sample size, there is nothing at all precluding the outcome that S1 really is that much more popular with ex Sonar users than anything else on offer. Interesting, but not that surprising.

It was a fun idea. I wouldn't overthink or second guess the results. You have to ask yourself, is there really anyone out there with so little else in their life they would take the time and effort to skew the results of an insignificant poll in a forum thread?

35mm,
Thank you for taking a bull by the horns so to speak.
Trying to get the vibe and flow of users as we experiment and sometimes scramble for a replacement DAW.
Your post is valuable, as you have tried to help open and expand the dialog.

This is the Internet, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say yes. <G>

It means that Studio One is 9.55 times better than Samplitude!

Al, thanks for doing the poll! I find it interesting. I'm personally very happy to have switched to SO.

There is a similar poll over at my favourite Ex SONAR Users Forum and, at this moment in time, Studio One has 47% of the vote, Cubase 20% and Reaper at 12%

A much smaller sample but at least the results are trustworthy, in my opinion.

What would be interesting, though, is how the same poll would fare in another six to twelve months time as peeps really get to grips with their DAW of choice...
