OK for those accusing me of being biased or thinking that my suspicions of DAW vote rigging are a sign of my insanity etc. Here is an image clipped from the graph of poll results during one of the voting patterns that made me suspicious. At the top and the bottom, you see sections of the standard voting pattern which is representative of what the pattern was usually like. Inbetween those you see an unbroken line of loads of S1 votes that come in in a short period during which the view counter on the poll forum thread hardly increases. A similar pattern occurred at the same time of day over a few days during the 12 days of polling.

I think any sensible person would become a tad suspicious when faced with these facts. This is why I suggested that S1 is the most popular choice even if the suspicious votes are removed, however, the margin of its popularity i.e. the number of votes in my view, couldn't be depended on due to the facts I have presented here.

Haha. I stand corrected 35mm. Someone out there does indeed have that little in their life, and they REALLY like S1:)

my point was that giving results and placing unproven accusations is  way to undermine your results by discounting the results.  Most polls simply state results and let data speak for itself. planting seeds of doubt  on result.  The fact that you only pointed to results of one product possibly being tainted is clearly biased.  any or all of them could be false or true.  it's not a big deal in the big picture but it's a horrible way to present a survey.

Hey Dubdisciple. To be clear, although my post came after yours, but I wasn't responding to anything you said. I was talking about whoever was desperate enough to feign multiple votes:)

I didn't take part in the poll, because I couldn't pick more than one option, which is what would apply for me.  I'm keeping with SONAR for the time being at least, however I did also purchase Harrison Mixbus, purely on the strength of the deal.  In addition, I plan on buying a licence for Reaper in the near future (as, based on my initial experience, Mixbus's MIDI implementation isn't great and seeing as I do use this quite a lot, having better MIDI implementation is desirable for me).

33mm, thanks for the poll idea.  It made for a fun read anyway and no harm done.

I concur, that image of voting you posted makes the result highly suspicious.  I withdraw my question about seeing the results.

Thanks for doing the poll.  My guess is that S1 and Cubase are the leading replacement DAWS, but that the number of S1 votes in your informal poll is obviously an aberration.  The internet has many great aspects, but dealing with trolls is not one of them.  And some trolls don't even realize they are trolls.

I do. I am currently working on a CD project that involves 3 DAWs and I like S1 the most because it is fast and efficient. For example clip gain, meloydne and audio bounce in S1 is faster than Sonar. Midi quantize is a heck lot faster too. Most importantly it is a lot more stable than Sonar.

Agree.
I voted for SOP too (but only once ).
It is fast and easy to use. It saves me time when mixing.
It does everything I need a daw to do.
I like the resizable faders and how the mixer docks and undocks. The "Edit", "Mix" and "Browse" buttons are handy.
I made my own color scheme because the default was a little drab. I loaded the "dive" preset and brightened it.
SOP is very stable for me and has not crashed or had the audio engine stop. Sonar used to give me the "audio engine has stopped" warning box frequently for no known reason. Pro Tools did that too.
I own Sonar, Samplitude, Pro Tools, Waveform 8, Reaper.
SOP fits my workflow the best.
Everyone must do their "homework" and find out which daw fits their workflow the best.
