The program Saves properly and Closes as expected but the process (sonar.exe) is still running in Task Manager. I've just finished reinstalling Sonar, all the disks, updates and whatever plugs were necessary in an attempt to fix it but the same thing is still happening. I can End Process at the end of my session but I'm uncomfortable with that.

Does anyone know what's causing it or how to fix it?

Thanks - rev

Are you running Sonar on a 64 bit OS and using 32 bit plugins? If a process called something like bitbridge or teleport server remains in task manager after you close Sonar it could be related to that.

I do my best not to run anything 32 bit but I do have 'em. I'll look for those processes in Task Man.

I've had lots of Teleport Server errors "The TS has stopped working' but I always get those errors when closing the file - which is when I would expect it to stop working so it may not be an error. I hadn't thought of looking for BitBridge, what's the difference between them? I thought you were only using one or the other but not both?

I'll test your theory with a project that's not using anything 32 bit, and post back.

This is actually encouraging because I thought there might be something profoundly wrong with my system (that might still be true) but if it's just Sonar's henchmen misbehaving, I'm much happier.

You were right, it was bitbridge in combination with waves 32 bit plugs. I'm sworn off everything 32 bit from now on!
Thenkds for the tip, I didn't find anything suspect in Task Manager but Event Viewer was full of errors.

Try "Run as Administrator" and see if that changes anything.
