I don't see a fix for the vs100 marker control not working

Did we decide there is nothing to worry about with that "database error" (for plugin categories I think)?

I got it once and ignored it - right after installing 2016.12. I went and checked and there were a few plugins disabled (which I don't really use) - so I reset and rescanned all my plugins, (and enabled the "disabled" plugins) and everything *seems* fine

I always look forward to reading the monthly e-zine.

Thanks, Cakewalk.

no issues rescanning all plugins with process monitor open (as suggested in the workaround)

BUT ... the installation has again (like 2016.11) added 2 VST path entries, bringing back all the 32bit plugs that I had excluded from the scan

... and it resets to using Tungsten (instead of custom theme)

A while back I had a problem with a 32bit path returning to my scan path. Ultimately I found it in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR\Cakewalk VST\Paths. After deleting the entry, it never returned again.

In both 2016-11 & 12 updates my 10K worth of 3rd party plugins (Waves,Izotope,Slate,Etc) have disappeared from the effects bin dropdown menu even though they are registered in the plugin manager (Rescan/reset done) and show up in tracks in my projects where they were previously inserted on the tracks. My problem is that I cannot insert any new plugins because they are not in the dropdown menu. The cure is to use a windows restore point to get my 3rd party plugins back in the effects bin menu because rollbacks do not work once the updates were installed. I have Sonar Artist on the same computer and it does not have this problem. So, until this is resolved I cannot update Sonar Platinum.

Check your plug-in layout setting. The layout setting is at the top of the plug-in menus and In the browser it is in the menu in the Plugins tab.
