Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if there's an easy "one button" way to flip solo/mute between two tracks so they can be compared with no overlap. This would be really useful when trying to compare tracks recorded with different microphones, or comparing a bounced track with the original, or two identical tracks with different effects. My current "solo track B / unslolo track A" (or mute B / unmute A) method adds just enough overlap or delay to confuse people who are not used to critical listening.
Any ideas?

Thanks!!
Cindy

Mute the first track and unmute the second track. Right click the first track and select "group", choose a color. Right click the second track and select "group", choose the same color.
Now when you click the mute button on one track the other track toggles its mute state too.

Solo will work too if you enable "exclusive solo".

Here is the help file for groups:

control groups. I knew the groups feature was still good for something.
Im so used to quick grouping everything now a day. I forgot the power of groups.

You can do it with quick grouping too. If you have one track muted and the other unmuted, you can select both and CTRL+CLICK one of the mute buttons to flip them. Alternatively, turn on "exclusive solo" in the control bar.
