The Cakewalk Command Center does not show older SONAR versions such as X1. Only versions of SONAR released in 2015 and newer are available in the Command Center. The older SONAR versions are in your account.

Scook, thanks for the info. Then, could you please tell me how/where to get patches for my old build (X1 Studio - build 185) ? I am logged into my cakewalk store account and am looking at my list of registered products. The support link beside my X1 product takes me to a list of knowledge base articles and the actual product link takes me to a downloads page that only includes the original build of X1 that I purchased online. Where are the patches???

Thanks
Pete

That's probably it. Your version may be one of the patches before X2 was released.

Scook's not a Cakewalk employee btw, just an encyclopedic helpful forum member, who happens to have host status.

Did re-naming the Aud.ini file work?

Found links via google to the cw knowledge base that linked me up to some patches.
I am now running X1 Studio x1d - build 534. I still have the same original problem.
When I arm a track for recording in Asio driver mode, the input is pinned at 100% !

Kamikaze: Unfortunately, re-naming the Aud.ini file did not work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the help guys.
Any more ideas?

I beleive the X series started when Roland took over, so I'd of thought that would have meant t was compatable. I jumped from 8.5 to X3, so I can't really say. Only other suggestion I have is to try the current demo version and see if it still occurs. If it does, then it's likey to be another issue as I don't recall Quad users having this issue before. I've had mine over 5 years now, so Quad posts tend to jump out at me.

I take it when you open the Quad's control panel outside of Sonar the inputs are fine.

My Device Settings shows
Main 1.04 (012E)
BIOS 1.01 (012E)

Yes the Quad works outside of Sonar with no issue. The Quad does work inside of Sonar but only in WDM driver mode. ASIO driver mode is where the issue occurs.

I have the same device settings.

I can't say that I wouldn't upgrade my Sonar version but I'm not sure that will solve my problem. To avoid running multiple version on the same PC (and any issues that may introduce), I'm going to install X1d on a second machine and see if I have the same issue.

Thanks very much for the suggestions!

My suggestion was more to help with deducing the issue, than trying to persuade you to upgrade. You mentioned that a newer patch of X1 may help. If the new Sonar still had the same issue, it would kind of rule that out, as well as provide more info into what it may be. Kind of the same if it did work. It would show that the Quad does work with Sonar just not with your purchased one. many users keep the older version of Sonar on their machines, so I don't think it would introduce more issues. You could also do a back up, and go back to that after you tried.

Yes, I follow you. I'll let you know how I make out with the second PC.

Update: Running X1d on my laptop with Roland Quad does work in ASIO mode!!

Both computers are Win10 64bit but the successful laptop has x1d 64bit installed and the failing pc had x1d 32bit installed. I'm going to wipe 32bit x1 out and reinstall the 64bit version.

We'll see what happens next.
