I just realised that my Notes tab (in the browser now) is not updating.
I started my project a few weeks ago before 2016.11 came out. It seems the old project info screen became a notes tab - and the notes I had in there were all OK. Last week I *thought* I updated the notes - but when the info wasn't there, I just thought something must have crashed before I saved - or *something* happened. Yesterday - I updated the notes again - and this time I'm sure I saved everything OK.
All my notes updates are gone though - only the original notes are still there.
 
I did notice that when the project opens (and I think maybe when it closes too) I see what looks like the old "Project Info" window appear. I just thought this was a clumsy aspect of the update - that copied info from the "old place" to/from the "new notes tab". But it doesn't seem to be working.
 
Is anyone else using project notes? Are your changes being saved?
 
 
 
EDIT - it seems to work OK in a brand new file. Are we saying that a template (made before 2016.11) won't work for saving notes? That would be a PIA.
 

I figured out what was wrong - and thought I'd update this post in case anyone else sees thi sproblem.
 
My problem was just with the one project file. I tried a new file and it was OK, and then I checked my template (and deployed a new project from the template) and that was OK too.
 
The one file seemed to have a problem where the "Notes" became read-only. Changes were not saved, and I even deleted the entire notes section (including Name, artist and album) - and when I saved and re-opened the file, the original notes were still there!
 
I reverted back to the 2016.10 update, opened the file - and deleted all the notes.
Then I updated to 2016.11 again, and now the file works OK.
 
- Remember to save your original Notes out to a text file - if you try this.
- I had to set up my synth rack etc again in the file - but that's not difficult.
- all my other files (which weren't touched when I went back to 2016.10) were fine and didn't need to be set up for synth rack settings etc.

I had this problem on an existing project (pre-Platinum). I finally figured out that if I just closed the old Notes window (click the X in the corner) my new edits in the Browser Notes tab would be saved as expected. Not sure if this will work for everybody.

when x1 was first released i saw the same thing, but with the new browser being redrawn over the top of the old pre-x loop explorer... i hope skylight's not just a "layer" on top of the old gui, and that the old winforms are only left behind for the transistion/refactoring before being destroyed utterly...

I guess I can't find notes at all. It's not in the browser window and I only can see notes in the Project menu, which opens up the old, full-screen Notes section.
 
I tried with existing projects and new projects and Notes module is nowhere to be seen. is it just supposed to be in the Browser window all the time?

Which version of Platinum update are you on? Are you running 2016.11 or 2016.12?

My startup window says 2016.12
but another funny thing is that I still don't have that fancy new EQ plug-in either LP EQ/LP MB (or can't find it in CC)
 
and my Command Center is up-to-date (or at least it is not telling me it needs to update)
 
i'll play more tonight, but i've tried starting Platinum a couple different ways and I don't see any other versions of the software hiding on my PC.

Go in to plugin manager and look under "excluded" plugins - you should see them there.
 
If you're on 2016.12, then your "Notes" will be in the browser...

Other possibilities, could be looking in the wrong place, the new LP plug-ins are VST3 or failed to install the latest Engineering FX Suite.
