You could bind SHIFT+C to "Use Controller Pane"
and
CTRL+SHift+C to "Notes | Show Velocity"
both located at Keybindings>Piano Roll View.
If you don't have "Show Velocity on Active Track only" selected (PRV>Notes),
you have to hit CTRL+Shift+C (or any other keybinding) twice to hide the velocity bars after SHIFT+C.
Edit: Doesn't matter, you always have to hit the keybinding twice to hide velocity bars.

Binding SHIFT+C to "Use Controller Pane" makes no change here.
It seems "use" and "show" mean the same thing in the program,
however
binding CTRL+SHift+C to "Notes | Show Velocity"
is a very handy work around for this, and yes, it has to be hit twice.
Thank you!

"ALT+P" Seems to be a default Windows binding to open the Process menu at the top.
I'd not want to loose that.

That's only when the Track View has focus. You can re-bind it in the PRV and not lose the Process menu shortcut.

I works it in PRV for me, probably because I've not re-bound it. I need it in PRV.
If I want it I'll just pick a key windows doesn't use.
