  • Shortcut for "Insert Marker" not possible?

With the new November 2016 update it is no longer possible to create any shortcut for "insert marker".
The shortcut in the helpfile don't work. And I'm not able to create any key for this command.
For example : Ctrl+J  == Project | Insert Marker
We need to create markers hundred times the day because we digitaze tapes, vinyl on several notebooks and give the recordings descriptons with the markers.
But these computers have german keyboard layout - but Sonar runs always in English.

Has anyone the same problem - or is this perhaps due to our german keyboard layout?

I type M where the Now time is to insert a marker. If I know in advance where I want to put a series of markers, I use the Markers View to enter the places manually.

Do you need to do something these two options don't do?

Thank you.
With the new udate the shortcut "M" suddenly no longer does.
I have tested to create a lot of other key kombinations. But no shortcut does insert a marker.

We use the markers at the begin of a new tape to specify the tape number, speed and color of the leadertape. We record 1 to 40 tapes in one project. Up to 70 hours in one project

Then perhaps it is that we run windows with german keyboard layout. And something is broken.

Sorry to hear that, it works here so it may be a localization issue.

Until there's a fix, maybe you can plug in a second keyboard that's English language? You could even take off the bottom and wire a footswitch to where the "M" key is.

Thank you.
Until this is fixed we use [ALT]+J+K
[Alt] is the shortcut for the menu. Then "J" for project - the K for "insert marker"

Are you familiar with the POK footswitch? It works with SONAR, but it also works with just about anything - I use it for formatting commands in Word. It might really help your workflow to put some keyboard shortcuts on a footswitch.

You could create a Wscript routine using SendKeys to automate it. Save it to the desktop and then assign a shortcut key combo. It may be more work than you want to explore but it 'should' work. I'm guessing WSH is still available in W10.
