Thats the time span you indicated. However there were others through the months. Some in 2016. Then again you asked me to show when the PRV zoom was implemented and I did. Its unreasonable to then say it was fully two years ago. It seems that you have a view that even against the evidence will still hold to your faulty premise.

'There have been a lot of MIDI enhancements in the last two years.'

two extra things to my list John, not 'a lot of' at all.  Yes it was in the last two year, but it was two years ago. Your post implies 'lots of' thng hapeing in the last two years, when it;s been barren. Just some fixes, but nothing new.

It's mainly been about mix workflows, and MIDI has been left high a dry. My Premise isn't faulty at all. And your two suggestions from two years ago prove that.

iirc, the most recent midi changes happened around @SilkTone's reports?

Were they fixes, or new functions. There's been plenty of fixes, there's no denying that. But new ways to create and edit, added flexibility to existing functions, nothing since Sonar Plat,Pro and Artist release in Alston

yeah they were fixes rather than new stuff, but i think we do have st to thank for any fixes since then (he had quite a battle at the time to even get the bugs acknowledged)

Searching for "Midi" in the Sonar updates page gives the following:
September 2015: Synth Recording
April 2015: Better Drum Maps (Soloing), New MIDI Engine
March 2015: Onscreen Virtual Controller
January 2015: Pattern Tool, MIDI Enhancements, PRV Enhancements

That's really not much after the initial release, and nothing in 2016. But then, what would be needed? A better drum map editor and improvements for staff view (triplets, staccato, and several other) would come to my mind. After all, midi is a pretty old standard and midi editing is well supported in Sonar.

So again, two years ago, not really in the last two years, It's January 2017 now. Nothing has happened since Alston with any new MiDI editing functions.

I had missed the very bottom of the screen when I posted, my firefox has been loading funny this evening, but it's all two years ago.

Hopefully they add something before the end of this month, So I can't make a post i February listing nothing in the last two years.

Two years ago isn't in the last two years? Who knew?..

Several of the ones I listed came after Alston, but I guess we see what we want to see.

As for genuinely new features as opposed to enhancements (which is entirely different to bug fixes), perhaps there are limits to what else can be done.

Here's a few.

Pattern Tool (Alston)
Onscreen Virtual Controller (Not really)
PRV Enhancements
The new PRV features more realistic piano keys, optimized vertical zoom resolution, and many other improvements. (Alston)
MIDI Enhancements - in many of the updates (Fixes, but not new functionality)
SONAR now allows for MIDI time-stretching, velocity layering, and additional functionality to make editing MIDI even easier.(Alston)
50 fixes and enhancements for the Piano Roll View in Cambridge, more in Dorchester and most updates sinceetc etc (Fixes)
Better Drum Maps (Okay maybe, I don't use to know how it changed)

So with the exception of the drum map changes, which aren't really helping editing, which is the functionality I'm getting at. It's 3 things two years ago all in the Allston release.

The Keyboard doesn't really expand functionality, unless you are on the move.

In the 2 years since the release and I did in my OP mention Alston,  PRV, SS and Staff View have had nothing added. There is another post running at t he moment talking about controller data being more clumsy than in 8.5. Yet the demand for these functions has increased for many users with more and more capabilities of Orchestral Samplers.

We are not seeing new features and functions for editing MIDI, we are seeing fixes, but my title indicates functionality. The drum maps and do help with the set up, but it's not helping beyond that.

Yes and that is more Audio than MIDI, tool and audio function. It was huge and a big battle to make the case by a broad range of users. But it's not really MIDI, it's the taking out of midi into Audio. The general case made was that midi data couldn't work for this process, as the bakers were arguing, why can't you just use the midi controller data, but you couldn't for work with the MIDI for some of what was wanted to be captured, it was the audio result that mattered
