I am new at this and have just purchased Music Creator 6.
I am having issues with midi files.  I can open and play midi files individually (by opening .mid file type), but if I import them into a Cakewalk project I cant hear them (can hear other non-midi tracks).
The .wav files work, and I can record from a Mic.
In Midi Output Devices I have ticked "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth"
I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Help!

Welcome shorty...

What is your sound card and driver mode.... and are you inserting a soft synth like TTS or Cakewalk Sound Center?

You should insert one of the synths to get a midi track to produce music on play back.

Cakewalk has posted these videos to help you get started :  http://www.cakewalk.com/CakeTV/Music-Creator.aspx

Take the time to work through them and then ask specific questions if you are still stuck.

Welcome to the forum.
Check the outpiuts of the MIDI tracks that they are directed to the MS GS Wavetable synth or a soft synth, as Herb wrote.
You'll need to expand the tracks to see the track's properties and to change anything.
You may also need to click the icon that looks like 4 boxes in a box above the track panes.
