Yup - I concur on the earlier posts. I just wanted to reiterate that it is perfectly OK to have multiple versions of Sonar on your computer - and many folks have 2-3 or even 4 releases of Sonar installed at the same time. (I have X3 and Platinum on mine, for example).
And, even though one or more plugins from 8.5.3 were left out of newer releases of Sonar, your 8.5.3 plugins can continue to be used in newer Sonar releases.
I believe the Cakewalk Plugin Manager and possibly some of the utility stuff might be shared, so that if you install Platinum the Sonar 8.5.3 will use the newer Platinum version of the Plugin Manager, but that didn't hurt anything - I am just letting you know that some of that stuff is shared among multiple versions of Sonar, so you won't be surprised or freaked out to discover that. :)
It is also important to note that if you create or save a project in Platinum, it may not be able to be opened from within 8.5.3 anymore, but your 8.5.3 projects should open up in Platinum. Some folks at some point a while back (might have been X3 or even X2) reported that some of their Cakewalk Bundles had trouble opening up in later versions of Sonar. But regular projects should be OK.
