Since there wasn't a sticky warning that "the end is near," I figured some people might be thinking that maybe if they wait until after Jan 1 there will be a discount or a special or something...but I have it straight from the Bakers that it ain't gonna happen. 
 
I'll delete this thread on Jan 1 because at that point, it will be irrelevant.
 

I kind of figured that would happen. I do wonder, though, how the renewals will be handled. In the past when we upgraded to the newest version there was usually something extra included in the price as a perk to upgrade. Will that still be a thing and if so will the Sonar Lifers get the same perks or will it be an added cost?

Haven't played hoops out in a fenced in street court since I was a teen,  but man the hoops I had to jump through in my life to get the money to buy the lifetime upgrade within the Dec 31 st deadline brought me into the championship rounds ....
It was a relief to have finally gotten it together enough to have gotten in on the lifetime deal this month ...

Same here. Pretty much all of my software needs upgraded. My video editor is years out of date. I saw the upgrade price and decided to save to be able to get at that price. The exact day I went to buy it the price suddenly jumped $30. They wouldn't honor the previous price. It's only $30, but this time of year that can be a lot. So, back to saving a little at a time. Finally get to the point I can buy the upgrade and I get an email with a 15% off sale that ends on Jan 31st, which is actually a few dollars cheaper than the previous "deal".

It would have been crazy if they extended it again.
 
However, the real question is if/when it will be offered again.  
 
I'm glad to be on board, but I image a day will come when it is offered for a limited time again.  Seems like an easy way to boost sales for a short period of time when necessary.

I really don't think they're planning that far ahead. Of course at some point they might consider it, or they might never consider it, or...anything's possible. This is such a fast-changing industry you really have to be able to turn on a dime. Maybe there will be a zombie apocalypse, and the Bakers will end up bartering Platinum for food...

I love BECAN (the Coffee House spelling for bacon) but I would NEVER barter my Platinum for BECAN.
