Synth rack was easier to access.  More clicks does not = progress for me.

I agree. 100%

Works for me.
Visually it's exactly the same as it was.

By Locking it in place I imagine you all mean DOCKING it.  The letter B either hides or reveals the Browser, does not loack anything...for me anyway . I have always done it this way. I didn't change what I was doing. Something changed for me in the last update...Lenses perhaps? I don't know. I appreciate the advice but what you describe is what I have been doing for many, many years already...

But perhaps, like I mentioned. something got corrupted in the newest build (for me I mean on my machine)
So shortly I will ree install back up to the latest Build and see how it is.

Thanks guys

This is not a bug.  It was a planned feature change.

Open the Synth Rack by choosing Views > Synth Rack Views (or typing CtrL+Shift+S)

The Synth Rack has a lot going for it, specifically the assignable controls. However the only way you could access them was by undocking the Browser, or docking the entire Browser in the Multidock. Now the Synth Rack can live in the Multidock all by itself, or in the Browser.

BTW, the image in that document of the synth browser is "what I want and am used to....regardless of the controls, I mean the syhth, blue background + sign to add,  red X to remove, etc.. Never said it was a "bug". I said something may have become corrupt in my system and my Sonar install. Still don't like it. But I get it.

I also like that they finally "fixed" this!

If you delete an Instrument track, whether a Simple Instrument track or part of an instrument folder, SONAR will no longer “orphan” the synth. As long as no other tracks route to the synth, it will be deleted upon deleting the instrument track, thus freeing up memory.

It was sometimes annoying

I agree......Ya know, sometimes old dogs like me get used to certain things and it's tough to change. When I use to process payroll for a company of about 350+ employees the newer versions of excel and word kept hiding stuff I wa used to. well not hiding, just moving.
So far I am ok, but I think I will stay away from Lenses , because I do believe I screwed up there....We'll see...Thanks to everyone for all the replies..

Drag the synth rack to the Browser, then using the Keyboard shortcut "B" it will hide the Browser+Synth rack at the same time. You can still use it in that similar way.

What it really comes down to is Sonar makes changes all the time, we all have these special things we want kept a certain way (like the synth rack) I will be honest, I don't like it either, but its not as bad as you think, once you drag it to the browser it can be shown/hidden easily like before.
