Hello, happy new year!!!

I am using Sonar.

In the staff window, when I copy notes by drag or selection,
and paste in another location in the staff window
by option, "slide over old to make room" and "paste into existing clip"

Then it becomes messy, garbage, with possibly clipboard materials
it copies wrong notes into there,
those notes pasted look like something which were in clipboard

So I have inconvenience in using Sonar

Is this a bug???

Thank you~~~

It might be. I typically use the Split function and drag notes over and paste in open spaces.
I wish I could help you more but I rarely if ever use the "slide over old to make room function.

"Slide over to Make Room" is broken with audio; I've submitted a report and Cakewalk has acknowledged this. So it's probably broken with MIDI as well.

No problem Mr Recall

My advise is a work around but not really a great one at that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Multi tracks can be selected by using the "Right click drag function" .Better known as "Lasso".
1- Position the cursor in the time line where you want to make your "Split".
2- Lasso the tracks you want to split and press "S" = Shortcut for Split.
3- Drag your tracks to the right. Out of the way to the position you wanted to have "Slide over" occupy.
4- Left click hold + Drag, to select the data you want copied.
5- Hold CNTRL key down and drag the selected data to the empty slot you created initializing step #4.

I hope this helps until this feature is fixed.

totallrecall - copy, cut, paste work with surgical precision - no mess - if you use control alt with c, v, x (control alt c), etc.

You can also pick precisely what time range you want to select if you use Select By Time under the Edit menu when you have one or more, or all, tracks selected.

Many users reporting issues with copying and pasting material whether in staff view, event list or PRV.   Serious bugs have been introduced since the 22.7 release in regards to pasting material.   If sliding material over is also an issue, I would think CW would stop adding new features for a short while and focus their resources on the basic operations of a DAW.  I'm getting to that point again where I am willing to learn a new DAW, Cakewalk's priorities are not in the best interests of a solid and reliable DAW if they keep releasing new versions without addressing these serious and universally-used functions.
