Hi all, is there a way to exclude a VST plugin permanently in the plugin manager?
and if so, how to, please?

Can't you just hit Exclude Plugin?

If you only have one instance of the plugin that should work.
Won't work for dealing with dupes.
The Exclude Plugin feature uses the plugin's CLSID # to work and sometimes different versions of a plugin or even 32bit and 64bit versions may share the same CLSID.

It should work, but NEVER EVER in Cakewalk Sonar.

You see I wish to exclude it as much as it won't even show up in the plugin manager under "excluded plugins", on the other hand, I do not intend to delete it, because it will be needed in another DAW.
You might "smell" it: It's again that "battle" of ProTools against Cakewalk. I had thought to have gotten rid if that mess, but now from time to time it shows up again sometimes straight upon launching Cakewalk, sometimes after doing some minor edits. I have found a way to "ignore" it, I just shift the popup message in some corner of my screen so it is almost invisible, then Cakewalk continues working. When I close Cakewalk, the pop up message will go away.
The strange thing is, I cannot find any trace of that disturbing .dll in Cakewalk VST-folder, neither under x64 nor under x86. And at ProTools, they do not answer. :-(

Move it to a new folder. One that Sonar wont scan. When you need it for some other DAW tell that DAW where to scan for it.

Is that what you keep in "that" folder?

Many enquiring minds need to know.

What plugin is it that you don't want to see?
