  • Why doesn't Process / Slide move the automation along with the audio clip?

Why doesn't Process / Slide move the automation along with the audio clip? Only the audio moves, leaving the automation unusable.
Dragging a clip with the mouse also drags the automation, but sometimes you want the precision of the slide command.

Not sure to be honest. I believe I have run in to this as well, In conjunction with Delete whole.
I do what you mentioned, Drag / Click + Slide.
It copies everything.

How about the precision of Copy/Paste ?
That is working. (It does Clips and automation ).
So there's 2 work arounds. if you don't feel like sliding a mile, use Copy / Paste.

It might seem like extra clicks but its only 1 or 2 extra clicks.
1- Select the region. (by right click lasso the whole region of Clips)
2- Press "S" to Split the Clip and/or Clips.
3- Drag the Material to the right.
4- Use the Copy/Paste function.

Thanks both for the workaround options.

Is the behavior of "slide" as expected, or should I report a bug?  I can't think of a situation where I would want to slide audio and not automation. Can you?

Slide dates to MIDI-only versions of Cakewalk, so to some extent it might be a holdover that it doesn't affect automation, but based on the fact that 'Slide' is grayed out if you have only automation selected, I think it's 'working as '.

There are certainly cases where automation applies to what's going on at that point in the track/project, generally, and it makes sense not to move it along with a particular audio clip.

I could see making a feature request to have a 'Slide Special' option with checkboxes for what you want included.
