  • [SOLVED] Follow Track Pan-Cannot Quick Group or Make Default

HI folks,
If I insert a send across multiple tracks and want all of their pans to follow the track pan I have to right-click on the pan knob of the send and choose Follow Track Pan for each one. It's a bit of a drag to have to do that for every send if they're across 20 tracks. Quick Grouping and choosing Follow Track Pan doesn't work, unfortunately. Is there any way to make this more efficient? Can it be set to default somewhere?

It's pretty important for a send to do this, particularly if it's a parallel compression send. Thanks, as always!!!

You can change the default state of Sends Pan to follow Track Pan in AUD.INI from:

LinkSendPan=0 (default)
to
LinkSendPan=1 (follow Track Pan)

Wow!
A) I didn't know there was a setting for follow track pan and B) I sure didn't know it can be changed globally in the aud.ini file.

Thanks a bunch fellows!

Klaus,
That did the trick! Thanks for that. It will save so much time not to have to click every pan knob in some very busy mixes. I really appreciate the help.

You're welcome, glad to help!

It saves a lot of time for me, too.

And for the (rare) occasions when I don't want Send Pan follow Track Pan, right-click the Send Pan knob and pressing "F" on my keyboard speeds up the task a bit more...

Best,
Klaus

I also didn't know this setting existed (I guess I should have known it does as it makes total sense). But I have to say I'm still a bit peeved that this is yet another useful setting hidden away and we have to manually edit a text file to change it. I sincerely hope CW is planning to add all this kind of stuff to an "advanced" preferences menu or something.
