  • Process / Apply Effect / MIDI Effects: Menu vs right-click (why only one available?)

Why is the Menu version of Process / Apply Effect / MIDI Effects grayed out, while the same function is available by right click?

Working on a group of MIDI tracks each with multiple clips, any combination of selecting measures, clips, or one or more tracks still has the Menu selection of Process / Apply Effect / MIDI Effects grayed out.
Yet I can right click on any of the clips on selected tracks and use Process Effects / MIDI Effect / Uncategorized / Velocity (or others).

Why is one available, and one grayed out?  Is there a difference in behavior depending on how the effects are accessed?

When using the Process>Apply Effects menu at the top, there has to be an effect already in the track to apply, and the track has to be selected. While right-clicking a clip and going to Process>Apply Effect, that automatically inserts the selected plug-in.

Hi. My guess is that in one case the track is in focus, not selected. And in the other case, the clip is directly selected. This is just a guess, though. Others may know better.
All the best.
