Reason I should update from x3 to Platinum ?

Drum Replacer, VocalSync, Theme Editor, ARA enhancements if you kept current with Melodyne. Quick grouping improvements, take lane improvements, soon-to-come ripple editing. A multitude of bugfixes (although X3 was good to me and of course every new feature has new chances at bugs).

Plenty of other stuff I'm sure others will point out. Actually, here is a good start:

John, long time no see. Merry Christmas my friend.
Too many reasons to list. Some complaints here and there in the forums but I have been stable the whole time on Windows 8.1

Best,
Chuck

I miss the good conversations and the advise you have given me over the years.
Platinum has been very solid here. I upgraded/built my own custom Intel I7 4790k LGA 1150 and its been like night and day compared to my old AMD FX Black 8350.

The upgrades are New editor to allow you to design your own skins, Vocal synth, Melodyne, Drum replacer and some new pro channel plug ins. There is also a slew of enhancements like plug in balancing. It allows multiple FX in one bin to utilize even core distribution. A lot of cool features now compared to X3. (which I loved X3).

Top 5 Reasons:

- Lifetime Updates!  Even if you leave Sonar for another DAW, you can always come back - even if it's 5 years later - and know you'll still be covered with the latest version.

- Sonar Plat is much more stable and noticeably more responsive than previous versions.

- Many, many new features since X3 (With new ones being offered each month).

- At some point, a Windows update (or other software incompatibility) will "break" a major function in X3 and you will be out of luck.  With Platinum updates, any break is temporary (Until CW can fix it. Meanwhile, if it happens, you can rollback to a previous month).

- You can upgrade Sonar now or later.  If it's later (assuming the lifetime updates offer has expired), you absolutely will kick yourself for not jumping on this deal when you had the chance.

I would not want to go back to X3. I've become too dependent on multiple Platinum features.
