Hi guys,
I assume that this feature is across the board and not just for Professional and Platinum? I have just upgraded to Sonar artist mainly for this feature - you cannot believe how useful it is for me as I have midi files that had incorrect tempos sent my way. I have most stuff from Sonar X2 producer so didn't see the need to go the whole way with Platinum at this time. I  assumed that this would be a simple feature to use. Perhaps it is user error but it seems it should be identical to stretching audio which I am very familiar with in Sonar. CTRL - stretch. Simple right?

Well turns out that at the moment I am getting nothing - nada with midi.

I watched the video that illustrates how this should work on the youtube channel.

I am very familiar with how this works for audio and have used it for years.
In this case -

1) Ensure that midi groove is not enabled - check
2) Place cursor over edge of midi clip - check
3) edge of midi clip turns blue just as in the video.
4) Click CTRL - edge of midi clip flutters between blue and nothing. I do not get the yellow edge as shown in the video.

So am I mistaken in assuming this feature is across the board? Do I have a local issue or is it not working as it should?
Thanks in advance for any asistance

Dumb question (sorry but not obvious in your list of steps) - in step 4, after CTRL-Click, are you then dragging the clip to change its duration? The yellow edge seems to coincide with the drag. Seems to work here. I don't believe the feature is limited to just Platinum or Professional from what I have seen.

Hi henryolonga,

This is indeed a bug with Artist. The stretching mechanism was not properly hooked up for MIDI clips in Artist. This will be fixed in the next patch.

In the meantime, stretching does work the same way in the PRV and inline PRV (choose "Notes" in the track strip data filter). Make the selection you want to stretch, hover the mouse over the last note in selection until you get the left/right arrow mouse cursor, and CTRL drag to stretch.

Thanks Brando and Dan,
Thought it wasn't right. Okay - will wait for the patch. The workaround works perfectly by the way
Cheers

Doesn't work in Professional either. It's now December 2016. So many bugs...

Does work with Ctrl+Shift+Drag in Platinum, not only Ctrl+Drag

Thanks, Bassman. Here it's actually Alt+Shift+Drag, but it works. Didn't figure right away, the video docs and tutorials are pretty dated, sadly. Sorry about the confusion.

EDIT: Ctrl+Shift+Drag works too.

Nice to hear that you found the right keys:)
