Using Music Creator 6. I mixed a song, ie Guitars, Drums, Vocals, then bounced those to a single track. I then exported that track as a 44.1k/16 wav file. The wav file will play via Windows Media Player. However when I used Roxio to burn it to CD, I received an error stating that it was an invalid audio file. Tried converting to another audio format such as MP3, WMA, using a different program and received the same type of message. Any ideas? I just upgraded to MC6, from MC4. I never had an issue before with the previous version. Thanks

I don't bounce to a track in the project...I bounce the finished mix to a new standalone wave outside the project.

I use the default export settings with the preset WHAT YOU HEAR and have never had any burning issues.

Short of getting a copy of that file and trying a burn on my rig..... IDK....

Remember, Herb, MC 6 has no 'What You Hear' preset.
Whiskeyburn, try using WMP to burn the CD.

well.... my version of MC6 stopped working and cake has not yet responded to get me going again.... the registration code seems to have quit...... still waiting...

So, I'm not about to open MC6 to see what exactly it can do.....

Interesting dilemma.... it's properly registered in the cake registrations page... the (lost my code) code I get from the registration page is the same one I enter and is on the paper page I printed the first day I registered it.... but.... it refuses to work and accept the code.....

I just send another reminder....

Update: I ended up re-bouncing, then re-exporting. All is well. I did this a few times the other night and it didn't work, but who know. Sometimes you just chalk it up to the Computer Gods being angry. Question though for GuitarHacker....You said "I don't bounce to a track in the project...I bounce the finished mix to a new standalone wave outside the project." What's this process. Last night when I bounced the tracks, I did not see an option to "Bounce to New Project". Do you mean you are bouncing it, exporting, then importing that wav file into a New Project?

No... let me explain it.

I do all the mixing and mastering or polishing as I call it inside the original project. Most modern computers have more than enough power to handle this task easily. Besides, if you find that you need to tweeze a level or some EQ.... you simply make the changes and export it again.....

When I export the song to one new wave.... most of the time it is done.

I open it with a wave editor and trim the silence or count in from it..... and convert it to MP3 for internet sites. I save the Wave in a folder and the MP3 in a folder.

To do this....I simply click to select all the tracks in the project (they turn a darker color when selected) and choose EXPORT and then I select a destination folder where I want the file to go. Click OK and it does the job. In MC4 and X1 I have the option to choose WHAT YOU HEAR as the preset for export.... but lacking that..... simply select all the tracks and you should be good. Mute the tracks you may not want included.
