So, there is a peak level indicator in MC4, but not MC5. I want to start using 5 exclusively, because there are less compatibility issues with my 64-bit operating systems, but I rely heavily on this indicator and cannot for the life of me figure out where it is, if it's there at all, in 5. What is the difference, or what is different to you? I'll look at the pix a little closer once I post this...
 

Okay, I see what you're talking about; there is no number showing the highest level the meter reaches.
Right-click the track strip and see if there are any options for the meters.
I don't have 4 or 5 so I can't check, but I know that there are selectable options for how the meters are seen... somewhere... in some programs.

In SONAR Home Studio 6 (came out at about the same time as MC 3 or 4) you click Options>Audio Meter Settings. Peak Hold is what you want. If that doesn't appear in MC 5, then you won't be able to do it. I think.

I just opened MC5 and it has those numbers that you indicated as missing. 

I searched to see if there was a place to turn them off/on and did not see it anywhere. 

Those numbers are supposed to be there... I right clicked and could change the settings on the meters. 

This could be related to the OS bit rates too. I have heard that even though MC5 is supposed to run on 64 bit it really needs to be in 32 bit compatibility mode to run properly.

Unfortunately in MC5, that's a feature they removed.  MC5 was actually not my favorite.  They removed a lot of funcationality between 4 & 5.  MC6 is much better.  It's also very different, tho, because it's based off of X1 and X1 doesn't even look like 4 or 5 and the way you use it is very different.  very different work flow.

however, MC6 does have the peak meter numbers available.

Yea, I just ran it in Compatibility mode; didn't change. Also, went to Audio Meter Settings and all I have are options to change the rise and fall, etc. in peak hold; no options to switch Peak Hold on or off. It's just, well, there. Lol. It's no biggie, I suppose. I just figured out that MC4 (32-bit) runs nearly perfectly in 64-bit OS, and a lot of the plugins I like to use will only work/show up in the 32-bit version of MC4, so, well....I've pretty much ditched MC5 and am just using MC-4 (32-bit) on my system until I can afford to upgrade to X1 Studio (which is the next practical upgrade for me) here soon.

I saw something referring to that yesterday somewhere; wasn't sure if it was for real or not (one of those "sounds too good to be true" things), but if that's the case, that's cool. It'll be a couple weeks before I can afford it, though; I don't know if the deal will still be running by then. Hopefully it will :)
